[K12OSN] Scenario and will this work?

I have a scenario and am wondering if it can be made to work.

I have a lab of computers with WindersXP on them, connected to a linux
server (fc3, non-graphical install) that is running dhcp for that lab. We
can turn the Internet on and off in that lab with simple command scripts
that I wrote that checks for the existence of a file and grants or denies
Internet access depending on whether that file was found or not.

Now for the scenario. . .

the server in that lab as two NICs, one "internal" and on 192.168.0.x and
one "external" and on 10.40.12.x.

External listed above is the rest of the network here at the school.

If I wanted a thin client to boot from a server out on 10.40.12.x, from
inside that lab which is isolated to 192.168.0.x, how would I make that
work? I realize that all traffic for terminals will have to go through
the server, but there won't be more than one or two at a time anyway.

I added the next-server line to the dhcp on the server in that lab and
pointed it to the correct server's ip address that I want the terminal to
boot from but tftp times out.

Any ideas? Or am I asking the impossible, here. . .

Purpose is that I want to be able to expose users from inside that lab to
LTSP, but that server in that lab isn't powerful enough to server
terminals, but the other one is a HOSS.
