Brainstorming out loud:
try
cat /proc/mdstat
to see how your raid is doing.
Also, try
/sbin/ifconfig
to see if you have any errors comming from your nics.
The other thing I could ask is are your clients using older video cards
which were better supported with Xfree86 as compared to the newer Xorg
Maybe all your clients are using VESA now and that is making a difference.
k12ltsp 5.0 uses ltsp 4.2 which I think dropped Xfree86 support (accel) of
older video cards. This is something that is different between 5.0 and older
versions of k12ltsp.
