[K12OSN] Samba / W2K login script issue - RESOLUTION

Hi everyone, perhaps someone has run into this before.

Doug, your comments got me thinking along a different track.

Here's what I found, in the hope that others may find it useful.

The whole problem actually has it's root in a hardware upgrade.

The old server was flaky. It started randomly dropping SMB connections,
which increased in frequency over several days.

I used WEBMIN to save my samba and user settings from the old hardware.
I re-installed FC5 onto the new server then restored the settings from
the old server. This included the samba machine trust accounts.

I tried using another computer to see if the problem was machine
related. I tried adding a domain user as a valid user on the new
machine. This caused a machine trust relationship error to occur.

After rejoining the machine to the server, and copying user profile
information to their new profiles I was able to get the login script to
work.

So thanks again to all on the list for your help.

Regards,
Bert
