[K12OSN] Sound Issues

Hi,

Seem there is another roadblock. Once again I've done a great deal of
googling but have not found an appropriate solution.

Installed the gconf-editor and started it as root. Navigated to the
audiosink value and changed the value to esdsink. Logged the terminal
in but didn't get sound so I rebooted the server and tried again. Still
no sound.

Went back into gconf-editor and to the audiosink value. It now has the
tag "This key is not writeable." on it. I've tried unsetting it (which
seems to have reset it to its default value) but it will not allow me to
edit it anymore. Every attempt to edit it comes up with a read only
error.

Again, it is doing this to the root user. Any ideas on what to do?

Many thanks for any and all suggestions.

Barry
