I wouldn't say I have a "preference" for a certain brand.  Cost usually is 
my driving factor.  However, I usually search for projectors with the 
features I need, then I compare the bulb cost.  That is usually overlooked.  
We have gotton projectors in the past without that consideration, then go to 
order the first bulb and it is $450.  Epson projectors such as the S3 
usually have a bulb cost around $200.  But don't disregard service hours in 
your comparison.  A 2000hr bulb may cost double that of a 1000hr bulb.  To 
me, cost of projector, bulb life/cost, and lumens are my main concerns.  
Whoever is the cheapest at that point in time, wins.
