Barry,

I'm 99% sure Macs use ATI graphic cards for video. Recently I loaded Ubuntu
5.10 onto an older eMac we had laying around (about 4 years old) and video
worked perfectly without any tweaking. What distro are you trying to load
onto the eMac? I notice you said you had been struggling to get video
working, but what distro were you working with?

Subject: [K12OSN] eMac video driver question

Hello List,

Wondering if anyone has done an PPC install of any Linux distro onto an eMac
hard drive? The reason being, Id like to find out what video driver Linux
uses on these beasts? Ive tryed all combinations of Radeon xyz drivers,
which i think these boxes have for video incorporated, into an
XF86Config-4 file and still have no joy.
In other words Id like to do a fixup very much the same as the
XF86Config-4.indigo file that works on Bondi & Indigo iMac's.
Anyone have any ideas on this?

K12LTSP 4.2.0

Take Care,

Barry Cisna
