Note that you can boot knoppix without starting X on low ram
boxes too.  Just type 'knoppix 2' at the boot prompt.  Besides
using it as a rescue/diagnostic tool, you can also use it to
run as a thin terminal on boxes that ltsp won't boot like
laptops with pcmcia network cards even if they don't have enough
ram to run a knoppix desktop locally. Boot with 'knoppix 2',
then at the shell prompt: 'X -query server'.
