What OS distribution are you using?  It is only packaged for
apt-get on debian/ubuntu as far as I know.  There is an RPM
package in the Centos testing repository that should work for
Centos 4.x or the k12ltsp EL versions.  Otherwise installing
it manually from http://backuppc.sourceforge.net isn't all
that hard.
