[K12OSN] ethereal-gnome with fc5 locks up

Hello List,

Wondering if anyone has a fix for the version of ethereal-gnome that is
with k12ltsp 5.0 , as mine simply locks solid when i open it. is there a
command line voodoo to "reset" the config for ethereal to keep
ethereal-gnome  from locking up when launching?
This same thing happened many moons ago,,with ?some version?, and i dont
remember how i fixed it.
