I have a promaster digital card reader. reads about a half dozen different
cards. I leave it plugged in to the USB slot and when a card is slipped in
it does recognize it and pops a window up on my screen. doesn't like to
let me take it out because I am not root, but if I take it out anyway it
doesn't seem to have any ill effects.
