You could try messing around with the video output modules.

Ctrl-S (for Preferences)
Expand the "Video" tree
Try changing the video output module to "X11"
If that doesn't work, try try "Xvideo" next

Maybe others on the list could help more.  When it comes to media
players on ltsp, I'm more of a trial-and-error guy.
