why not just pick up a $20 watt watcher meter that is plugged into the
outlet and the load is plugged into it, then see exactly what you are
using.  some of the better ones can log usage.  that way you can "Show"
anyone just how little power you are using.

you can use the excuse that "Dell was giving you information for full
computers, we have most of the inards disconected and are using them as
dumb terminals rather than full computers. see this is how much electric
they are actually using"
