I had a similar problem with some deskpros as clients that I brought  
with me to NCLS last year.
If you can get a bios with a nonbuggy version of PXE, then here's  
what you have to do.
Add the "-r blksize" option to tftpd at startup. On Fedora, this  
means adding that option to the tftp file in the xinetd folder.
The other thing that I had to do was "echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/no- 
ip-pmtu-disc". Make sure that runs every time the server starts up.

Those two things made the old deskpros boot just fine.
