[K12OSN] SME Server Authentication

Is SME Server a ready to go replacement for a Windows DC? I certainly would like to setup a demo replacement for our schools network using linux some day, but I know I'd have to use all the same distro for a DC, file servers, printer servers, and mail server. Just because too many differences would likely confuse the rest of the staff who are even less ready for linux than I was.
I recently found out that our building(4 total) file/print servers are actually hosted on a fedora 5 server. I knew they were VM's but no one mentioned what they were on. I got the opportunity to show them how to remotely access that server and an easier way to do backups, versus none at all ;-)

The difference between SME Server and OpenFiler and IPA is that SME Server's
already production ready. For Windows clients, nothing beats it. Lovely
interface.
