Hi List.

I finished instructions on how to authenticate a Fedora 7 workstation
against SME Server. It works pretty well except for automatic unmounting of
shares on logout. Maybe someone can help me there?

The how to is located on the SME Server wiki -
http://wiki.contribs.org/Fedora7

Levi: SME Server is a great alternative to a Windows Server PDC/Exchange
Server. It has an attractive interface through which you set up users,
groups and shared folders. The shared folders can be websites or just plain
shared file places. Users automatically receive a log in account and an
email address, with auto-synced passwords. It acts as a PDC as far as
Windows computers and users are concerned, and I've shown above how to auth
Fedora 7 against it.

It makes a great print server, you can set up automatic backup with easy
restore. It has automatic RAID monitoring. It's just cool.

Add a few contribs like GroupOffice - http://wiki.contribs.org/GroupOffice -
and you've got a winning server. You can install moodle on it, and auth
against the email accounts, giving you powerful single-sign-on capabilities.

The only thing left to check for me is whether I can authenticated K12LTSP
against it. And fix the unmount thing.

Steve
