I was able to get my Intel 3945abg working on my Inspiron 6400 with Fedora 
Core 6 by adapting this howto:

It works with WPA PSK and WPA Enterprise (using networkmanager). One upgrade 
of (as I recall) the dkms-ipw3945 package managed to break it, so I had to 
revert to these versions:

	ipw3945-firmware-1.13-1
        dkms-ipw3945-1.2.0-1
        ipw3945d-1.7.22-4
