yes, I remember my first modem was 16.5baud.  paid $500 for a 2400
baud modem and thought I had died and gone to heaven... my first
personal computer was a $2,000 Victor 9000 with 256k ram and two 5inch
floppy drives.....the 10mg hard drive was optional and $500. (which I
still have and it still operates.)

we've come a long way.
