Hi Mel,

Download, and make a Knoppix Live CD. Boot your server from this,then
you can see the 'innards' and the /boot dir of this server. From this
point you'll be able to see what your %vmlinuz% number is and so forth.
Once you make your edits to grub, reboot and pull your Knoppix CD.
Keep doing this "till you get it right",At least you wont have to do a
re-install of the whole OS.
