[K12OSN] screen resolution issue

Some programs, such as tuxtype, change the desktop screen resolution when users start the program.  Is there a way to prevent this?  I had to log out the user, and log them back in to get back to the correct resolution.  Is there a preferred resolution with k12ltsp?
