Re: [K12OSN] Sound : my nemesis

David,

See if your server is identical to this:

 locate libesd
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesd.a
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesd.la
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesd.so
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesd.so.0
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesd.so.0.2.36
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesddsp.a
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesddsp.la
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesddsp.so
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesddsp.so.0
/opt/ltsp/i386/lib/libesddsp.so.0.2.36
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesd.a
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesd.la
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesd.so
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesd.so.0
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesd.so.0.2.32
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesddsp.a
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesddsp.la
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesddsp.so
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesddsp.so.0
/opt/ltsp/ppc/lib/libesddsp.so.0.2.32
/usr/lib/libesd.so.0
/usr/lib/libesd.so.0.2.36
/usr/lib/libesd.so.1
/usr/lib/libesddsp.so.0
/usr/lib/libesddsp.so.0.2.36
/usr/lib/ao/plugins-2/libesd.so
/usr/lib/vlc/audio_output/libesd_plugin.so

Next run the following command on the server:

symlinks /usr/lib/

see if you have the following[ 1 line] listed( among many others)

absolute: /usr/lib/libesd.so.1 -> /usr/lib/libesd.so.0

this may narrow something down,,,fingers crossed...

Sounds like a symlink is doa somewere,,,but were?...
