[K12OSN] off topic - sound redirection and XDMCP

I haven't been able to find a good answer to this issue, so I though the wizards at the k12ltsp list might know the answer.  

I have my devonIT thin clients connecting to my Edubuntu server via XDMCP.  All is well with the graphics, but sound does not work.  As a result, I think some programs such as tux type will not work because they require sound.  Either way, it would be nice to have sound if the kids want to play any multimedia.  Otherwise, they will have to connect to the Windows network!  Nooooooooo!!!

Any advice appreciated.
