I am just curious...

You do know that the "\" (backslash) on both lines should not be used, right?
It means only that the following line is a continuation of the first one.

Ex:

ACTION="" SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_TYPE}=="disk", \
              ATTRS{removable}!="1", RUN+="add_fstab_entry %k"

Is actually:

ACTION="" SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_TYPE}=="disk", ATTRS{removable}!="1", RUN+="add_fstab_entry %k"
