[K12OSN] blue screen on Logoff

Sounds like the GDM/XDM/ login screen is not starting back up. The
default X background is bright blue. It should be overlayed with the
window manager specified stuff. ctl-alt-bkspc is killing X so the
login screen reappears.

Look in the /var/log/X.org logs for clues on why things are failing.

I'm assuming the system is in runlevel 5.
