[katello-devel] Timezone for users

Hello,

we have an issue with timezone in the CLI and we ended in a discussion
how to handle it.

So for the CLI case we are able to determine local timezone and convert
everything for the user. The question is how what the plans are for the
UI portion. I guess web browsers do not send TZ information in a
request, apps can only guess from their geo information.

The usual approach is to let users to set their own timezones for each
account. If you accept this for UI, we would like to leverage this also
in the CLI. I can imagine users using the CLI on a server in a different
timezone. This would give them flexibility of setting what they really
want to see independent of the client machine.

Mike/Bryan please decide if this is a must-have feature. If not, we will
just show times in the local client TZ. Not sure what UI will do / is
doing.
