I don't have hard numbers but the question you always have to ask when
writing a webapp and considering your browser support policy is the cost of:

* development costs to ensure compatibility with various browser versions
  - code changes necessary to sure ensure everything works well across
platforms
  - debugging tools and setup so your dev team can track down issues
across various browsers

* Testing costs to ensure compatibility:
  - automated testing
  - manual testing

* Users and market share matrix
  - when you remove support for a specific browser are you effecting
enough users that you are going to negatively effect your project and
product

for us, I've heard from teammates that the time and effort required to
support IE8 (and older) and FF 3.6 (and older) is high which makes me
lean towards not supporting them. Ideally we could come up with some
sort of matrix with the above inputs to derive a more 'correct' answer.

without real numbers we have to go on a guess .. and if you had me make
a guess right now I'd say:

* Firefox 17 (latest in EL6)
* Chrome 20+
* IE 9+
