Guest about RHupdates

I have a cuestion, when I update my system (Fedora
Core 2) if I create the RHupdates directory in the
process, all the package that I put in this directory
will be automaticaly installed or I need to do
something else ?

Other, where are the package of the updates, I see
that I have all the updates in /var/spool/up2date but
all the files are .hdr; what does it means ? do I need
to occupy this files or I need the rpms ?
