Hello,

I found that with EL4, I had to run 'system-config-soundcard' in order to get
audio going the first time.

Provided your card is recognized by the kernel (check the output of 'dmesg'),
you shouldn't need to tinker with /dev (would MAKEDEV even do anything on a
system running devfs? I don't think it would ...).
