Re: Red Hat ES 4 Kickstart does not find e1000

On Thu, 12 Apr 2007, Richard Skelton wrote:

Hi,
I have successfully built this Supermicro X7DVL-E system with kickstart under Red Hat ES 3 update 8 but when I change to Red Hat ES 4 it fails to find any network devices so it can't download the ks.cfg file from my NFS server.

There were a lot of network devices added to RHEL 4 in the latest
updates with kernels beyond 2.6.9-34. Any update with 2.6.9-42 and
greater should support that network driver. The Kickstart howto describes
how to add these newer network drivers to the initrd.img if necessary.
