[Libguestfs] appliance VM won't start, can't find /init, but /init is in the image.

OK.  So now I am trying with a 2.6.38 kernel.  Surprising result: some
confusion about ext2 root filesystem.  I can confirm the /var/tmp/.guestfs
has a root file that is a valid ext2 file system.
