On my Rawhide-ish Fedora 16 box:
$ rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libcom_err.so
libcom_err-devel-1.42-0.7.WIP.1016.fc17.x86_64
$ cat test.c
#include <stdio.h>
#include <com_err.h>
main () { char *t = (char *) com_err; printf ("%p\n", t); }
$ gcc test.c -o test -lcom_err
$ ./test
0x400510
$ ldd ./test
linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007fffa8371000)
libcom_err.so.2 => /lib64/libcom_err.so.2 (0x0000003024c00000)
libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x00000033a6800000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib64/libpthread.so.0 (0x00000033a6c00000)
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00000033a6400000)
I suspect there's a bug in F16's com_err.
