This happens because installing (any) package causes the RPM database
to be touched, causing supermin to rebuild the appliance in
/var/tmp/.guestfs-<UID>/  Before the reinstall, this contained the old
appliance from the /usr/local copy of libguestfs.

rm -rf /var/tmp/.guestfs-* would have also worked.
