Indeed.  I couldn't manage to get it working here.

Just to be sure we are hitting the same problem, the preseed file was
downloaded correctly, but it always ends up in a bunch of I/O errors
from the disk during the installation and it fails.  I have tried
different configurations but it doesn't make any difference.

Is this the problem you had?
