I'd definitely be interested in the full stacktrace. Also does this
occur with the latest releases (ie. enable the development repo):
# rpm -qa | grep xen
kernel-xen-2.6.21-2949.fc8
kernel-xen-2.6.21-2942.fc8
kernel-xen-devel-2.6.21-2942.fc8
xen-libs-3.1.0-12.fc8
xen-debuginfo-3.1.0-5.fc8
xen-devel-3.1.0-12.fc8
xen-3.1.0-12.fc8
kernel-xen-devel-2.6.21-2949.fc8
(FYI, virt-install runs fine on the above machine).
If you want to pursue this further, then compiling libvirt with the
--enable-debug=yes option produces a lot of interesting debugging
output, and will allow us to see what actual libvirt calls are being
made, plus arguments.
./autogen.sh --enable-debug=yes --prefix=$HOME/local
make all install
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HOME/local/lib virt-install
Rich.
