As a thought, that option isn't known to the dd supplied with OSX 10.6.5:

  $ dd if=/dev/zero of=foo bs=1024 count=1
  1+0 records in
  1+0 records out
  1024 bytes transferred in 0.000041 secs (24970740 bytes/sec)
  $ rm foo

  $ dd if=/dev/zero of=foo bs=1024 count=1 iflag=fullblock
  dd: unknown operand iflag
  $
