Yes, for example, 'virsh console' opens a text console.

Oh, you want a graphical console.  Well, virt-manager and virt-viewer
both use libvirt under the hood to manage which graphical console the
guest is exposing (such as vnc or spice), so it is possible for you to
use libvirt in the same manner.  And if you have a guest with a vnc
graphics, then it is possible to open up a vnc client of your choice
(rather than virt-viewer) to connect to it, although not all vnc clients
are created equal (virt tends to use some vnc extensions not present in
all implementations).
