Your JNA version is too old. Before version 3.3.0 JNA lacked a
function to free malloc'd memory.

The code still only requires at least JNA 3.3.0 - although I'd
recommend using a more recent version.

We could even express this in the POM using a version range, like

   <groupId>net.java.dev.jna</groupId>
   <artifactId>jna</artifactId>
   <scope>provided</scope>
   <version>[3.3,4.0)</version>
</dependency>
