I have plugged the tap0 to the bridge.
when I create the tap0:

tunctl -t tap0 -u root
brctl addif br0 tap0
ifconfig tap0 up
chmod a+rw /dev/net/tun
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j MASQUERADE

so I think this is not the reason.

Do you plug the tap0 into the bridge? This could be the missing piece.
