I have this error using this procedure to create a niked filesystem
running the line :

echo -e "unit: sectors\n\n/dev/sda1 : start=63, size=$sda1size, Id=7" | sfdisk --force /dev/loop0

/Checking that no-one is using this disk right now ... OK//
//
//Disk /dev/loop0: 31.5 KiB, 32256 bytes, 63 sectors//
//Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes//
//Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes//
//I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes//
//
//>>> Script header accepted.//
//>>> Created a new DOS disklabel with disk identifier 0x6888d234.//
//Start sector 63 out of range.//
//Failed to add partition: Numerical result out of range//
//Leaving./
