Yes that's interesting, although it's unfortunate that it doesn't
include the CPU model (eg. "Broadwell" etc) in a form which libvirt
can understand.  Also the topology is rather difficult to parse.

virt-p2v converts physical machines to virtual machines.  Boot with a
live CD or over the network (PXE) and turn machines into KVM guests.
