The Apple offering kind of sucks (but is cheap), no
active/active and the drives are split, 7 drives per
controller, they claim a lot of FC HBA/switches work,
but I have heard otherwise.
A better offering might be the Nexsan ATA boy: dual 2G
FC controllers in Active/Active mode, several RAID
levels, LUN masking, FC copper or fibre, SCSI or
iSCSI, web based management, serial interface, etc. I
have used this and have found very good performance
for the cost. It does not have the "enterprise"
quality features as a FASTt600 and perhaps not the
same throughput, but is a very competent product and I
would recommend it for many different type
applications.
Happy hunting....
