[Linux-cluster] adding to a 2 node cluster

I'm trying to add a node to a 2 node cluster.  Here's what I've done...

vi /etc/cluster.conf
removed this section...
<cman two_node="1" expected_votes="1">
</cman>
added the node
ccs_tool update /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
cman_tool version -r 5

on the new node...
/etc/init.d/ccsd start (starts ok)
/etc/init.d/cman start (also tried modprobe cman, then cman_tool join -c
cluster01)

log messages look ok to start...

then repeat this over and over...

/proc/cluster/status on the other nodes indicates that the version has
been updated but it's still a 2 node cluster...
