The fix has gone in to RHEL 5.4. I have a feeling that it might also go
into 5.3.z but I'm not 100% sure what the timescales are there. The bug
is known and fixed in upstream too.

It isn't actually using any more CPU, its just that the LA is
incremented by 1. So a fix is already on its way,
