Hi all,
I have some naive questions regarding GFS and distributed file systems in
general.
1. Can anyother distributed file system other than GFS/OCFS2 be used over
GNBD? What are the chief differences between GFS and OCFS2?
2. when space is allocated for a file in GFS , does it do in such a way that
it equalises space utilisation among the storage nodes? Which are the file i
should see for understanding the general data-distribution algorithm used
in GFS?
3. Given the recent advent of flash memories are there any "distributed-log
structured" file system like Zebra, xFs(paper Serverless network file
system<http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=224066>) that are
developed lately?
thanks,
Mugunthan
