RHEL 5.4 only has ext4 as a "Technology Preview" at this stage, so it's not officially supported for anything as of right now (by RHEL). That, of course, doesn't mean it won't work, just that you can't call Red Hat (or any of its partners offering support) for help if you run into a problem :)
