My 8139s were giving me so much problems (with both 2.2.17 and 2.4.0-test)
that I decided to replace them by a couple of 3c905C cards. From our
tests with the 8139 at Conectiva, rev. "A" RTLs and a motherboard with
a SiS chipset (but also VIA and PIIX3) is very crash-prone. Rev. "B" cards
seem to be a bit better.
