Spamfilter CVS works the same; the difference is that the work is
shared so once I add something to the list the mailboxes (and lists)
of everybody using spamfilter are protected.  And, of course, when
you add something to spamfilter my mailbox is protected ;)

Spamfilter is structured in such a way that the anti-spam procmailrc
files update themselves automatically when a CVS commit message
comes in ;)
