I downloaded the deb packages from sistina and installed them on the 3 systems in question. Upon a reboot, I was able to pvcreate /dev/hda5 successfuly. Now an interesting thing is that when I cfdisk the partition type is still unknown on two of the machines. Do you know why that is? Badiane
