[linux-lvm] shuffling drives along the chain?

This happened about a year ago, I have no record of which
version of LVM it was, except that it would have been Mandrake 9.1
and the LVM subsystem that comes with that.

The filesystem was XFS and the problems arose when I grew
some LV's and started filling them up with data.
