[linux-lvm] kernel 2.4.20-18.7smp i686 from redhat

Hi,

I am currently using RedHat 7.2+updates on several servers.  This
includes the 2.4.20-18.7smp i686 kernel.  I have no option but to use
RedHat...please don't suggest Gentoo or something else.

I would like to try EVMS, but I am having trouble patching the kernel
source.  The first step is Device-Mapper.
As I am no Kernel hacking expert, is there anyone who has a recipe for
how to make Device-Mapper work with this kernel.  I don't think DM is
already installed in the kernel as it is not an option in make
menuconfig.

I appreciate any help.
