Hi all. You might have an idea about the work status for lohit by last week
[1]. as I have mentioned in earlier blog, there were some things left out
for the release of Lohit-Bengali. We had worked on it since last two weeks
& I would like to mention about the improvements that we had gone through.

Basic improvements would include :
- Support for both "beng" & " bng2" script tags
- Complete cleanup for GSUB lookups
- Automated Testing
- Support for the rules mentioned in Unicode Standard Core Specification
Documentation
- followed OT rules for Lookup writings specified by Microsoft
- separate Feature file for flexibility & efficiency
- thorough testing on W8, Harfbuzz, utrrs etc

Font specific improvements :
- removing redundant characters (specifically the half forms since
anchor-positioning applied to them)
- implementing "copy reference" feature
- Bengali fonts have lots of Conjuncts included in Lohit family, so the
glyphs that are exceeding 31 chracter limit, has ommitted scrit tag, from
its tail. (Details has been listed under README file)

am sure with these improvements Lohit Bengali is more precise at this
stage. So may be within a next week, we can have alpha release news for
Lohit-Bengali. Current development cabn be tracked at GitHub[2].

Thanks & Regards,
Sneha Kore
